Thank you for this answer, dear Alyssa. You couldn’t have picked a better topic to speak to my heart and put my resistance on the spot: I don’t even dare asking myself, out of fear not to know. But as with Percival the question weighs more than the answer. May the grail castle present itself soon again, and I am ready to transform the wasteland into flowing rivers yet again.
My pleasure, I'm glad the archetypal references and words resonated :)
You make a great point on Percival, the question weighing more than the answer. It's interesting, cause you would think it is the fear of the answer that would stop us in our track. But the asking of the question is the connecting moment, saying yes to the way our subtle parts are reaching out, that is indeed quite scary and overwhelming!!
This looks interesting, thanks for sharing. I imagine this maps quite well given how the land suffers so much in the myth. Love seeing all the ways this legend is able to reflect different areas of life :)
Just read this one, and it touches heavily on what we discussed this week. I use tarot and more recently a few oracle decks. I use mediumship and intuition. I talk with trusted people in my life.
Yes, I was surprised how similar the themes of the article were to what we discussed in session! Hope the offering here provides some more food for thought :)
Thanks for the Robert Johnson quote! Learning to trust the imagination is difficult in a society that tells us it’s meaningless. I love the idea of consulting an oracle when stuck, I generally use the I Ching and it has never steered me wrong.
Couldn't agree more. Imagination, intuitive and non-rational ways of knowing, are often devalued to such a degree that we question the reality of it. That's especially difficult for those who have an intuitive style personality (I touch on this in the post: https://alyssapolizzi.substack.com/p/intuition-and-the-bridge-of-perception). In that case, the manifestations of imagination or subtle insight often feel more real and true than concrete reality itself!
I'd love to get more into the I Ching, what do you like most about it?
I like that the I Ching speaks to the energies of the cycle that I might be in with regard to my question, it discusses what field I’m in now and what that may be changing into so that I can look at my question in terms of the forces of change that may be active. For example, I was trying to decide if I should sublease my office when taking a 9 month sabbatical, or just let it go. The Ching came back with “A ship anchored in the harbor does not take a journey.” It’s not always that clear, but I let the office go and never regretted it!
Love that framing, and it's quite unique to the I Ching. To replicate that in tarot, for example, you'd have to frame your question or inquiry towards a state of flux, change, development.

This was an interesting article on Percival and the climate crisis you may enjoy :) https://www.peacejusticestudies.org/chronicle/percival-and-the-climate-crisis/

Definitely does. Thank you for your brilliant mind. You have a way of reframing things that works for my brain.
Thank you for the kind words! I feel grateful to find others who relate to life in the way I do.
